Kiros takes another draw from his tankard, "His name is Morte Rictusgrin. He is a floating skull. He talks alot, and insults people like nothing else can. Fortunately, he's rather more difficult than most to kill, as he's already dead, and only a skull. Anyway, when I saw him, he was hitting on the zombie barkeep at the Gathering Dust. Naturally, the dead chick didn't respond, but it was rather amusing, and I managed to get a few good pick-up lines. I don't think I would enjoy traveling with him for long, but occasional run-ins are quite amusing." the tiefling takes another drink, "What I'd like to know is how he is able to carry stuff, since he can pick stuff up, but I've never been able to figure out where it goes. His hover abilty is also interesting."

A shape worth studying. Even if he is just a demi-lich, the form would be beneficial non the less.
Shrill is quiet for a few seconds, contemplating what the creature might be. "You live in a place as full of magic as Sigil yet wonder about something like that?"
He takes a another drink from his wine as his flesh starts to dance. Cloth seems to emerge from his skin, swirling around him before settling, joining together as they form a fine yet simple tunic. The pants have been replaced by a far more well made pair of black ones and a soft, supple black cloak is stretched over him, the hood folded down. His quiver and bow is visible below his back and a knife is stuck in one of his newly formed boots.
"See how simple it is, how easy the shape gives way to the will? I suspect your friend knows that as well as I do. Even if he doesn't, there's a deep well of magic that do it for you..."
That was the difference between Shrill and the mages who wore their magic trinkets. His "ability" didn't stem from magic, or even nature. It was his own power, his strength of mind and will that allowed him to alter his body as he saw fit, to copy the creatures he saw and meet.

Kiros raised an eyebrow, "Morte wasn't magical." He said simply, taking another drink as Shrill shifted. 'I have no wish to change my shape. I like myself the way I am. Nor do I have any need to be able to shift." Kiros spun a dagger tip down on his finger, and replaced it back in his boot deftly. "My skills serve my needs."

"I was not offering to teach, but showing you that will alone can achieve amazing things. Floating, or making things disappear, are minor. No doubt as easy for him as walking is to you." Shrill takes a handful of firenuts and put them in his mouth, letting them crackle for a few seconds before dousing them with his wine.

Kiros goes to take aother drink, and realizes there is nothing left. Tossing the cup to the barkeep, who deftly catches it. Turning back to Shrill, Kiros askes, "So, what brings you to Sigil?" He draws a dagger using his tail, and begins carving something into the table.

"A portal." he says with a smug smile, not saying anything else as he reaches for a arrow in his quiver, carefully inspecting it.
"But I came here in my travels. Been looking to lend a hand where I can, earn some gems and find some shapes."

"I doubt you'll find many gems here. We deal in copper for the most part. Even gold is somewhat rare, except among the higher classes. I recommend against advertising that you have gems, or my wage might need an increase due to extra danger." Kiros said calmly, "You might want to change some of them to copper, but only one per person you change it with. That way no one person knows how much wealth your carrying around. The thugs can get rather... insistent." Kiros goes to the barkeep, flips him a copper, and comes back to the table with a drink.
"Not blood this time," he said with a smirk.

"I don't gather them for wealth. Rather, I appreciate their appearance." He said, looking at Kiros along the length of the arrow shaft. He always suspected his need to collect gems stemmed from his draconic heritage. Like all kobolds, he was a long removed descendant of a dragon. Perhaps he had inherited their drive to hoard treasure.
"And do you think mere thugs could best me? I am one of the finest archers in the planes."

"Everyone wants wealth. The ones that don't just haven't realized it yet." Kiros takes another drink, "Another thing, being an archer doesn't neccesarily help when you get jumped. I've found a good knife works better at close range."

The kid was too litteral for his own good. Lots of darkness too. Shrill didn't say anything, just leaning his head to the side. It was a unpleasant conversation, one that did little for him. He did not want darkness, but light.
"No matter...no matter..." He said softly, his voice drifting away.

Kiros finished his carving on the table. Taking a drink, he watched the symbol seem to grow a life of its own, moving around the table, shifting its form. After a few moments, it glowed a dark purple, and disappeared, leaving the table unscathed. He put the dagger back in his boot, and finised his drink.
"So, what do you want to do here in Sigil?" Kiros asked.

For a while he though about saying he wanted to help people, but thought better of it.
"Take a look around, explore the city." He said, tossing a few firenuts into his mouth.

Kiros looked at Shrill blankly, "Anything more specific?" He asked. The kobold was rather annoying, but now that he wasn't being such a chatterbox, he was actually starting to like the fellow. He shook his head, 'Don't start thinking like that Kiros.

"People. I want to see the people." He said, pausing to spit out his firenuts when they stopped burning.
That was what really mattered to him. To get to know the people here. It was the inhabitants that defined a city, like the tree's and animals defined a forest. Were they poor or rich, many or few, feed or starving? Who ruled, who fell from the top and who climbed from the bottom?

Kiros thought for a moment, "Well, what kind of people do you wish to meet? Like minds tend to gather together here in Sigil, and being infinite, every type of person you could think of will be here. Were you wanting to see the Rulers, or the lower class? Perhaps the hive dwellers, many of whom you see right here in this bar, including myself." Kiros fixed his eyes on Shrill and shifted slightly, his armour making a small squeak.
